Monsoons Bring Flooding to Northern Thailand

Two weeks of constant rain resulted in massive flooding in the MaeSai, Thailand, area. The Mekong Bible Training Center’s large garden is underwater, the fish pond has overflowed its banks, and caring for the livestock is challenging. These are all items important to the Center personnel for daily food. However, Pastor Chang and his family are warm and dry, the MBTC buildings are weathering the storms, and they have enough to eat for now. They are more concerned about the people around them who are being forced out of their homes by rising water. MBTC and its affiliate, Lighthouse Church, are mobilizing to help feed people and also provide temporary housing at the church. Some areas are so deeply flooded that supplies are being brought in by boat through the city streets. Your prayers and financial support are greatly needed!

Thailand Ministry Update

ERIM continues to impact Asia through the Mekong Bible Training Center and Lighthouse Church.

  • Covid restrictions continue in Thailand, and our physical return to the country remains delayed. However, our participation in the ministry there continues in consultation, participation in administrative tasks, and financial support.
  • Pastor Chang’s daughter, Parn, is pursuing her studies to become a missionary doctor. ERIM is underwriting her university expenses. Any donations to help further her education to serve Christ in the medical field are greatly appreciated!
  • MBTC is planning an intensive 40-day Bible training course for international students in October/November. Attendees will need to finance their own travel but will be housed and fed on the property. If you would like to be a part of supporting this course to train ministers to reach people in Asia, please mark your donation as such.
  • Construction continues on the large conference building. The newly finished dorm rooms will be utilized for the upcoming 40-day training course. The push is on to complete the kitchen in time to be utilized to feed the students.

Changing our World One Life at a Time”

The ranch is green and beautiful once again. After cutting the grass three times, it takes shape and looks like a golf course. I love it. We spent ten days cleaning out the drainage ditch and it withstood two big storms like a champ.

However, the third storm came with a lot of wind and huge amounts of rain and we had some slight overflow. We are fine for now, but after the rainy season we will have to build a rock retaining wall, and raise the sides of our bridge. It is something we can do ourselves so we will only have to pay for rocks and cement. Our men’s ministry is growing and God is changing the hearts of our men.

Lis has also started a women’s ministry to help raise up the women in our churches. The first Monday in August we will host the Pastor’s meeting in our church (Lis has three Churches that we oversee) in Suchitlan. We will feed 80 people. So please keep this big event in your prayers. Also, it looks like we will have our first wedding in the Ranch this November. I am excited that two of our young people are doing it right and getting married.   Please pray for this young couple.   As our ministries continue to grow, and we are trying to disciple more leaders I am beginning to hear people say, “I am learning so much from you”. I love the fact that God is giving me people to disciple. Multiplying ministry has been on my heart for a long time. I desire to be a fisher of men, who will be fishers of men. This past weekend Josh was with us. I am so proud of the man he is becoming. It has always been my prayer that my boys will also be fishers of men. Please pray for them as they seek God’s will for their lives.

Thank you so much for supporting our ministry. Your prayers and donation keep us in ministry.

Grace Christian Outreach — Kevin and Sylvia Rosendahl

Dear Friends,
God’s blessings to all of you! What a blessing it is to be a child
of the Living God! We have a Father in heaven who loves us
with an unconditional love, wants to give us the desires of
our heart, goes ahead of us opening doors for us as we follow
His lead, protects us from the wiles of the enemy and has
good things for us as we seek His face! I never cease to be
amazed at His goodness to us, even as we go through the
storms of life! He is faithful!

The new church-plant in Ashby, Minnesota. Another church lets them meet in
their very nice building. Pastor Kevin has been helping them out as they are
looking for a full time pastor. They will have a baptism service this Sunday. Please
pray for the baptism!

The past month has been a blessed month for GCOM as we
continue to do all we can, by His grace, to expand God’s
Kingdom for His glory! Several months ago, dear friends and
supporters of the ministry helped us to get a printing press to
Pachuca, Hidalgo, in central Mexico to begin to print much
literature – Gospel tracts, books of John, New Testaments
and Bibles to spread across Mexico and into Central America.
We have been supplying tons of literature to this organization
who have been using it in their Gospel Caravans throughout
Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize. Thanks to their fervency to
spread God’s Word, and the provision of Gospel literature
from various ministries, millions of people have heard the
Gospel for the first time and many have received Jesus as
their Lord and Savior! God’s Word tells us that, “So shall my
Word be that goes forth from my mouth; It shall not return to
Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall
prosper in the thing for which I sent it,” (Isaiah 55:11). With
the printing press running, they will have a continuous supply
of literature to distribute. Thanks to all those ministries and
individuals here in the United States that provide literature
for this huge multi country outreach as well. All of it is still
needed and is greatly appreciated!

My dad and I picking up used steel to take to Mexico on the semi which should be going down within a month or so. It’s fun to spend time with my dad doing the Lord’s work.

Last week, GCOM started a church on the missionary base in
Nuevo Laredo. It was begun via a VBS outreach that drew up to 50
people each day. It started small and grew each day. Now the
Mexican pastors, two couples, will minister to the children each
Thursday night, provide a meal for them, and have a family
service as well. Please pray that the people who come to the
church will become strong disciples of Jesus Christ and be used
mightily for God’s glory. Also, for provision for every need that
the church has and for unity among the leaders.

The VBS at the mission base in Nuevo Laredo. The children loved the
pastors as clowns sharing the love of Jesus with the children
What a fun time for the children! The VBS
was a huge success! Praise God!

A new Video Bible College has been started near Lake Chapala,
Mexico with 9 students studying! Please pray for their spiritual
growth and that God will raise them up to be mighty men and
women of God! During this time when many seminaries are going
away from God’s Word, we thank God for this Bible College that
remains true to the Word of God and that is being used around
the world to train leaders to bring in the spiritual harvest.

The new Bible College in Lake Chapela near Guadelajara. Please pray
that each student grows in the knowledge of Christ!

Sylvia and Joshua will be in Minnesota beginning approximately
August 20th as Sylvia has a couple more tests at the Mayo Clinic.
They know that she has a small cerebral – spinal fluid leak but
they were unable to pinpoint the location exactly last time. That is
why they put in the four blood patches hoping that they would seal
the leak and all of Sylvia’s symptoms would be gone.

It worked for four days and then all the symptoms
came back. She says that she is at 60% but we pray that with these
new tests they will be able to pinpoint the leak exactly enabling
them to fill the leak with a glue- like substance like they did the first
time. Please pray that we can get all of this behind us this time, for
Sylvia’s total healing and for the resources to cover the cost of the
procedure. At the Mayo Clinic our experience has been that
everything must be paid up front which makes things difficult but we
know that God is faithful.
Thanks for partnering with GCOM to impact so many lives for
Christ. Please know that each of you is so appreciated and we thank
God for you daily! If you have any prayer needs, please send them
our way!

In Christ’s Love,
Rev. Kevin, Sylvia and Joshua Rosendahl

Ministry Needs

  • Church groups and Individuals to come and minister in Mexico beginning in
    October

    price.
  • A warehouse in Laredo to hold the ministry supplies. Our previous
warehouse was sold and the one we are using now is full and we are
working on getting all of that into Mexico.

  • Two pallets of a ton of beans for Mexico – cost – $1500 in Minnesota

NATIONAL TEACHER’S DAY

On Tuesday, June 28th, National Teacher’s Day was celebrated in Nicaragua. Not only are the teachers acknowledged for the hard work they are doing, but they are given a day off as well.

MTC’s student body celebrated this day by honoring each teacher for their intricate and diligent work and to let them know that they are grateful for all they have done and continually do for the next generation of rising professionals. They know that their role is not easy, but it is one of the most rewarding and important roles a person can have; to be able to teach others.

BUCK & RHEA MARSHALL BRING A TEAM TO NEW HOPE

On Monday, July 4th, New Hope in Nicaragua had the pleasure and blessing of being able to receive once again, Pastors Buck and Rhea Marshall accompanied by 20 youth and adults from New Hope Church from Kodak, Tennessee. During their stay at New Hope, they visited churches, feeding centers and painted some classrooms at the New Hope Facility.
There was a time of fellowship with the youth that came from the states and the youth of Casa Adonai. It was a beautiful time of praise and worship. Part of the team of young missionaries testified about what God did in their lives during their time here. It was truly incredible!
We commend this team as they were the first team to come to New Hope in Nicaragua since the plague of Covid-19.

VACATION IS OVER!!!

On Friday, July 1st, the students went on vacation for three weeks, finishing the 1st semester of school, and came back on July 25th to start fresh for the 2nd semester.

What a blessing it is to work with the children of Nicaragua. Over the past 20 years we have watched as hundreds of these students have graduated from MTC and went on to college or took their place working in various jobs.
For many of these children MTC has been the “lifeline” that changed their lives. More important than becoming an adult and taking their place here in society is the fact that many of them received Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
I started out teaching them that “life was hard,” and “life was not fair,” so don’t expect it to be.
I told them there was a tow in Nicaragua that will try to drag you down. For every step you take forward you may lose two.
This seemed kind of far fetched to some as they had no running water, dirt floors in their homes, no electricity, barely enough food to survive, practically no money…
I told them they were not locked in by their poverty. Their only indifference was their lack of faith and trust in God to see them through.
I begin instilling in our first students to begin to dream… begin to look to the Lord for He had a beautiful plan for their lives!
I remember one student telling how she could not see anyway before coming to MTC where she could ever go to college, but, she said she decided to take me up on my words and begin to believe she could do it… money or no money, she was going! And she did… and she is a doctor in Nicaragua today.
What happened??? These kids begin to look beyond their poverty and the pitiful conditions they lived in. Many of them begin to do exactly that… “dream.” And now, they “own the dream.” Now there are doctors and lawyers and ministers who are touching Nicaragua for Christ!
And, you who have give to New Hope for years were such an important part of this happening. The truth is, without you and God… their lives would never be changed… for eternity!!!

S.O.S. URGENT PRAYER REQUEST!!!

You can see in the above picture what is left of our main auditorium. As you may remember, “the volcano ate it,” as they say here in Nicaragua. We are less than 5 miles from a “live-volcano.” Although we painted and painted and welded… and did everything possible to save it, it disintegrated because of fumes in the air (that we could not see), from the volcano. Now, New Hope needs $32,000 to rebuild various areas where we use to have a roof over it. Although lumber is extremely high in Nicaragua, everything must be rebuilt with wood. If we do, there will be no corrosion problems from the volcano. We have other buildings in our facilities that have wood beams instead of metal and they are as good as they were when we began building here 20+ years ago. This building was so big, we didn’t know how we could use wood. Contractors told us here that if we used the same paint on it that was put on iron pipes under the ocean we would have nothing to be concerning about. We believed them. But, they were wrong! Though we spent 1,000’s of dollars ($100 a gallon), for this special paint, it did not take care of the problem.PLEASE AGREE WITH US IN PRAYER FOR THE $32,000 THAT ISNEEDED TO REBUILD PARTS OF THE ROOF ANDFOR THE OTHER MATERIALS WE NEED TO FINISH THIS.Though it may not look like it, we have come a long way already in making this change. This should take care of this need for many years to come.AND TO IT ALL, WE SAY, “TO GOD BE THE GLORY” FOR ALL HE HAS AND WILL ACCOMPLISH HERE IN NICARAGUA AS WE CONTINUE TO WORK WITH THE CHILDREN…

They held their peace and glorified

Acts 11 portrays to us a vivid picture of the battle between
old-testament-way of life and worship and the new ones.
Although born again and baptized the Jewish-wing of the
church was reluctant to give up the old ways of doing things.
They didn’t even preach the good news to non-Judeans (:19).
Even though Peter’s shadow healed some people, deep inside
he needed a very serious transformation. The application
of these biblical truths is far more reaching than we may
imagine. This struggle comes in every age the church exists. In
every age church goes through the motions of making a choice
of transforming itself into the new ways of life and worship.

Summer Camp

According to the forecast, the first day of our camp was supposed to
be raining. God’s people prayed. There were clouds and lightning.
It was humping and bumping but no rain. It was very sensitive for us
to install all the tents without rain. On the second day, rain was not
on the forecast but it poured. The Lord is a lord of powers of nature.
The camp was a success in winning souls for Christ and
preaching the gospel to indigenous Bashkir people. Please
pray for those repented in the camp to do their next spiritual
step. Also, pray for the local people who were in contact with
us and their coming to Christ.

ESL

We thought we would come up with a new name for our esl
school in this prayer letter but we won’t. It just takes a little while.
Please pray for wisdom and creativity as we plan for the new
school year. Could you pray for the fulfillment
of one need? We need $300 for our websites and hosting for our
school for next year.

Friends and Family

This is final week of rest for us all before starting a new school year.
Thank you for praying for us. We are so honored to be used by the
Lord for preaching and proclaiming His Kingdom here in Bashkortostan.
