Lest while ye gather up the tares
In the parable about wheat and tares Jesus teaches about the importance of not showing partiality when we make disciples. God does certainly have a plan for this world and He is working to accomplish it. However, it is unfolding over time and that means we may not know who is wheat and who is weed. One of the important lessons we’ve learned on the field is not to judge the seed by how it looks. If we had done so we would not have achieved our missions’ goals. That leads us to the next subject…
Featured Leader
One time a man came to our service. After the meeting, he openly argued and expressed his disagreement on some unimportant controversial biblical issue. He was so straightforward in proving himself right that I thought we would never see him again in our services. Then, we forgot about this story for a while. What was our surprise when someone told us he had prayed the repentance prayer. One of his friends shared the gospel with him, and he prayed the prayer of repentance at home. Later, he became one of the first few baptized in our church. Now (over 20 years) he is a church planter in Moscow.
Church plant
This leader was called to plant a church in one of Moscow’s suburbs some time ago. They have been meeting as a group for quite awhile and soon will become a church.
Please pray for this church plant. These are mostly young people. Pray that they will grow and mature in Christ. Also pray for the leader of this church to preach the gospel boldly. Continue to pray for our trip to West Asia region in December. We still need $1000 to raise toward the trip.
Friends and Family
These relationships with the parents of our children’s friends do certainly play a role in evangelism. More and more do we see parents who interact with us and learn that we are Christians. Pray for the hearts of those parents so that they may make a next step to come to our Sunday school class.
Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you for standing with us in prayer.
