Denise Aludo, TMCI Missionary to Kenya

KIBERA LADIES BIBLE STUDY (KBS)
We held an all-day leaders’ team meeting on March 9th to discuss the final class of the Holy Spirit study and plan for the Farwell Celebration of March 12th. The study for the next quarter was also selected and divided into nine weekly sessions that will begin on May 21st and end July 16th. The study will be titled “WHAT GOD SAY’S ABOUT MONEY” and will be led by Joanna, Rose & Susan using the homework/discussion style format. This style of study proved very effective in this last teaching and we all agreed the ladies were more engaged & participatory.

The Farewell Celebration was well attended and gave the group an opportunity to share about the impact of the most recent study and allowed time for members to wish Denise well as she prepares to travel back to the US. A great time was had by all!

YOUTH & VULNERABLE CHILDREN CARE
Denise traveled upcountry from Feb 23rd to March 2nd and was able to visit two schools where St. Catrherine kids are attending. She was also able to visit the kids staying at the St. Catherine’s Children’s Home located in Uriri and took Youth from the New Life Youth Ministry with her for the visit. The kids are doing well in school and adjusting to life in the rural area. They were very appreciative and excited to receive the bags of school supplies and personal hygiene products that Denise had prepared for them!!

On the 28th Denise accompanied Joanna to St. Catherine’s to teach her last Discipleship class and officially hand over the class. There was a very productive discussion about the future of the class and the new teachers. While sad to see Denise go, the kids all agreed that God continues to work in their group and in each of their lives and that He will use their new teachers for His glory!
