Arlene Reitz, TMCI Missionary to Guartamela

Number ministered to:  35

We were unable to have our monthly ladies tea in Sept or Oct due to road closings, national holidays, and construction problems, and bad weather. But in November our tea was a great success. We had 25 women, and about 10 little ones attend. The road was open all the way, and the much needed bathroom was finished just in time. November is harvest month in Guatemala so it took great effort for the men to finish the bathroom because usually they work at their regular jobs and harvest on the side. The kids are out of school so the whole family is involved in the harvest. Having this many attend the tea is a blessing. I am teaching on prayer and will continue as long as the Holy Spirit leads me in this direction. Pastor Antonio was working near and heard some the message. He had asked me to share some on forgiveness so I included it in the message. He was pleased. I made some suggestions to him and his wife too, and they are trying to follow through. We are working together better than ever before and most importantly I believe the Lord is pleased. We both chose to take a position of humility, set aside our differences and learn to work together for the good of all. Our God, who resists the proud and gives grace to the humble has intervened with His wisdom and blessed with His mercy. His love was so great in us and for one another that we missed each other and are thankful for this new beginning. We both prayed through it all. And we both learned a lot. The tea in November was a step into our new beginning and God’s faithfulness manifested once again.

Giving God the glory for working in our midst in Xecam, Cantel. We have begun again. New beginnings for Bridges of Grace Ministries and Fountain of Grace church. Pastor Antonio and I have begun working together again by the mercies and the grace of God. We are focused again on building up God’s Kingdom by building up His people. Thank you Lord that your mercies are new every morning and your strength is made perfect in our weakness.

Prayer Requests:

Please pray for Pastor Antonio, his family especially, and his church Fountain of Grace, and for continued restoration and renewal in our relationship. Prayer needed for the continued construction of the church, and leadership training which is to begin in January. Also need prayer for me to receive total healing from problems with symptoms of sciatic nerve pain. Jesus is my healer, I know the truth and I am standing on His work at the cross, and The Word He promised and praying in His name and my legal right by His shed blood. Thank you for standing with me.
