Newsletter from: Robert and Joy Varga. November 2015.
Dear loved ones and friends, God bless you…
Greetings from Paraguay…
We hope and pray all is well with you all and miss you!
We haven’t written for a while due to the many changes and adjustments we are going through this year. But the Word says “to give thanks in everything” and that is what we want to do!
In case you wonder; Yes! We are still alive working for the Lord and kicking; the devil that is!!!

THANKSGIVING is just around the corner and we are almost at the end of the year!

Counting our blessings…and still learning how to do so!
Changing churches has costs us; getting used to a new congregation getting to know them; learning to love them, and letting go the love we had for our former church was a very hard thing to do…
The former pastor, Gustavo and Rebecca and their boys stayed with us pastoring our new church.
They couldn’t be transferred to another church for they were leaving in June for the States to work, study, and live there… but it didn’t go through.
It was a very awkward situation for the members of the church, for us and the former pastor.
It did cause some confusion, a perfect set up for the devil to cause division in the church, and we tried hard not to let that happen!
At the end of September they were transferred to pastor a different church here in Paraguay.
We really love and appreciate Gustavo and Rebecca and their boys and miss them…
Since October we are pastoring by ourselves again and it is taking some adjusting for the members and us but…God is doing it!
It is making us more dependent on the Lord in having to trust Him for and giving thanks in everything…
Funny, when you start thinking you trust Him completely; He shows you where don’t, and that is what we are learning this year!
It reminds us of a little song that we heard years ago, it goes like this:
It’s not in me , it’s not in me, it’s only in Him…
It’s only JESUS; it’s only JESUS in me…
When l thought l was, when l thought l was…
then l really wasn’t…
It’s only JESUS, it’s only JESUS in me…
It may be a simple song, but we thank God for the Truth!

Victories:
Robert also worked hard on the roof and other maintenance jobs in the church for it had a lot of water damage as well. He had to do some acrobatics to get to the roof and check things out. For somebody who is 66 years old, he is in good shape! He got it done! God bless him!
Our house…
Our rented house almost caved in on us, because of vibrations and water damage with all the rain we have had…But thank God, Robert and two faithful workers could rebar the walls through the whole house and Robert is now finishing the floors.
l found out that it is very hard to praise the Lord through the dust, dirt and confusion, while having to go on with our daily tasks serving others. l had to” fight” to keep my joy!
l appreciate Robert so much more! He did a tremendous job! It looks so good now!

Teaching and learning at the same time…
I have been very busy with teaching at Church, the Bible Institute, the school \ school camps and the “Encounters with God retreats “this year.
This weekend, after Thanksgiving we have a pastors and missionary retreat, based on the life of the Apostle Paul called: “From Pastor to pastor”
I have to teach on” the sufferings of the apostle Paul” \ the suffering of the life of a pastor\missionary…
Studying and preparing for it convicted me greatly and made me count my blessings!
If you are like me, tired and weary sometimes and thinking about giving up because of home sickness, pressure, injustice, suffering and ingratitude… there is nothing more effective then to go to the Scriptures and meditate on the sufferings of the apostle Paul…
l was healed quickly from feeling sorry for myself!
We have a lot to be thankful for!!!!!!!!!!!
We wish you all a very blessed and happy Thanksgiving and praise our God from who all blessings flow so richly… And above all; for His wonderful mercy and unending Love…

A big hug wrapped up in love and prayer,

Robert and Joy Varga.
