2008 CHALLENGE

A NEW WAY TO "BE INDEPENDENT & CONNECTED"

Mercy, grace, love and peace to you in the Blessed Name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Nearly twenty years ago, this ministry reached out to lovers of Jesus through ads in Christian magazines like Charisma and New Man. The heading of the ads simply read, "Be Independent and Connected". It explained how we were looking for partners in ministry like you. What wonderful things God did in growing us into who we are today. All glory be to God!

Our fellowship still offers the Godly blessing of being "independent and connected". Though "independence" allows fast action on the front lines of ministry and the mission field, God’s glory is magnified through our "connection". We have long been connected through mail in the form of your monthly reports and in person through our Connection Conference and Receptions.

Now, we have added a new way of connection through e-mail which will save valuable time and money for the Kingdom of God. Last month was our first dry run with e-mail monthly report reminders and correspondence attachments. This month is a month of transition as we move from regular mail to e-mail.

PLEASE HELP US by doing one of two things.

If you have a preferred e-mail address
, please write it on the back of your monthly report so we can make sure our records are up to date.

If you do not have an e-mail address
, please prayerfully consider calling our webmaster, Sister Cheryl Eaton at 706-793-1124 to request one. The cost for this new e-mail address for you is only $10 a year. You will save that much in postage and it is essential to the way we do mission for years to come.

The theologian/prophet A.W. Tozer once observed that God’s sovereignty over man’s free will is like a mighty ship. Though there are thousands of tasks being done onboard (and some are done imperfectly), the mission and destination are never in doubt. The captain’s authority and skills make success absolutely certain.

It's the same with us who sail through these days on the "Old Ship of Zion" with our captain the Lord of Hosts! He has rescued the lost like you and me throughout the centuries. We are living in the most dramatic days the world has ever known in HIS-story. His wisdom is unsearchable and His Sovereign Rule perfect even though we often fail. Hallelujah!

Recently a pastor friend commented that decisions and change move slowly in the local church because "if you turn a ship too fast, people could fall overboard". This is surely true of any large ministry. But, if you are ever disappointed that your ministry is small and your leaders are few, this can be a blessing in disguise! Think of how easy your decision making process is as a direct result of these things! You are free to be "action oriented" and decisive in all ministry opportunities. God’s Kingdom work is advancing with power in the hidden places. We "do not despise small things"(Zechariah 4:10)!

I think that TMCI ministries function on the seas of life like jet skis. We don't have the size, resources or abilities that many others do, but we can do things others can't! We can’t make big waves but we can be effective where we’re sent and respond quickly when there is a need. These are all blessings of "independence" in mission. Never underestimate little in the economy of obedience to the Almighty!

This may be the last "paper" prayer & praise report you’ll get from this office. In 2008, we will carry out our mission of being "independent and connected" in a new way; that is, electronically. The time and resources we save will surely fill with exciting new opportunities together. His glory is just over the horizon and our Great King knows where He’s going!

We're Glad to be on board with you!
